Showtime has released a first look at Lauren Ambrose as Van in the upcoming second season of hit LGBTQ+ teen drama Yellowjackets.

Season one took viewers by storm with its diverse queer representation.

It was confirmed for a third series on 15 December, ahead of season two’s release, which is slated for March next year.

Yellowjackets follows a successful high school girls football team who survive a plane crash in the wilderness.

Almost 25 years later, the survivors tried to piece together what really happened.

The Paramount+ show has a star-studded cast, including Jasmin Savoy Brown, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress and Liv Hewson.

Lauren Ambrose, Simone Kessell and Elijah Wood have joined the ensemble for season two.

Fans learnt that young Van (Hewson) did survive the island when Ambrose was cast as her adult counterpart.

Although fans have a few more months before they can watch season two, Showtime teased a first look at the 44-year-old as Van on its Instagram.

It was captioned: “And you thought Van was six feet under.”

Fans flocked to the comments to react to the announcement.

“We never hoped for Van NOT to make it out,” one wrote.

Another said: “I knew she was alive!!!”

Fans loved watching the romances between young Taissa and Van alongside adult Taissa and her wife, Simone unfold as the show jumps from past to present.

Yellowjackets season two premieres on Showtime on 24 March.

The UK release date has not yet been confirmed.
