‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ star Monica Beverly Hillz has addressed Alexis Michelle’s breakdown during the first ‘Untucked’ episode of ‘All Stars 8’.

The season nine queen seemingly got upset discussing concerns over how she would be received by her fellow competitors on the season.

“I know every hope and dream you have wrapped up in this because we all have the same ones, so that’s why I’m emotional, but also because I wasn’t sure how I’d be received here and I hoped that it would be well,” she told her sisters, adding that the way it went “was amazing”.

The moment has since gone viral online, particularly because fans and queens alike have questioned how genuine Alexis was being with her emotions.

“Like, really? Bitch, what is wrong with you?” Naysha Lopez said in a confessional shown during the episode.

Discussing the moment for the first time, Monica said there “was a lot going on in that room” and she was thrown “for a loop” when Alexis broke down.

“[I thought], now it’s going to be like, which bitch can have the most camera time?” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I felt kind of disgusted at the moment with her, but what can I expect? We’re in a reality show, we’re taping a god damned show, a lot of stuff is going to happen that’s not okay with me. I felt like, there she goes, stealing the show! It was supposed to be Kahanna’s moment, and then all of that happened. When she started crying, I was like, well, there goes that girl, back in her season, coming out again.”

Monica clarified that she is okay with Alexis as the cast of ‘All Stars 8’ is “very shady” but “always open to conversations about how it made [us] feel”.

“We’re very close,” she continued. “On season 5, you’d see the girls on the road, but [‘All Stars 8’ has] group messages, we’re always cheering each other on with words of encouragement. I really do like this cast.”

‘All Stars 8’ premiered on 12 May on Paramount Plus in the US and on WOW Presents Plus in the UK, with the season seeing the return of former finalists, lip-sync assassins and Miss Congenialities.

The fierce line-up is as follows: Alexis Michelle, Darienne Lake, Heidi N Closet, Jaymes Mansfield, Jessica Wild, Jimbo, Kahanna Montrese, Kandy Muse, LaLa Ri, Monica Beverly Hillz, Mrs. Kasha Davis and Naysha Lopez.
