Kristen Stewart is set to direct three upcoming music videos for boygenius, a trio which consists of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker.

The news was confirmed in Rolling Stone, though the songs in question are yet to be confirmed.

The band recently released three singles at once from their debut album The Record – $20, Emily I’m Sorry and True Blue.

Stewart has previously directed a video for a live, reworked version of Chrvches’ Down Side of Me, which was released in 2017.

Elsewhere in boygenius’ interview, they revealed that Big Thief’s Adrianne Lenker or Mitski would be a perfect fourth member for the band.

They also discussed Bridgers’ rise to fame, with Dacus explaining that she “handles it so gracefully.”

“In ways that I would feel complicated, she has such clarity,” she continued.

Baker added: “It’s wild and it impresses me the scale that she is able to sanely deal in. We’ll get random texts from her, ‘Just hung out with…’ some famous hero. It’s like a bingo box of unimaginable interactions.”

Bridgers recently appeared on a song from Taylor Swift’s second re-recorded album, Red (Taylor’s Version).

Following the changed ownership to the masters of her first six studio albums, Swift has been re-recording her older catalogue to gain complete ownership of the material.

Nothing New (Taylor’s Version) is one of the songs labelled as being “From the Vault” – a song that was recorded but failed to make the cut almost a decade ago.

In an interview with Billboard, Bridgers shared that recording the song was an incredibly special experience.

“It’s just been a dream,” she said. “I just am so excited to have people take it at face value the day that it comes out, because I got teary recording it. I just couldn’t be more excited.”

boygenius will perform at Coachella on 15 and 22 April.
