Bel Priestley has shared new details about her upcoming role in Heartstopper season two.

Back in November, Netflix announced that the young talent would be playing Naomi in the show’s highly anticipated sophomore season.

“Heartstopper S2 news! Introducing Bel Priestley as Naomi, Ash Self as Felix and Thibault De Montalembert as Stephane,” the streamer tweeted.

In response to the news, Priestley took to Instagram to express her excitement over her casting.

“Words can’t describe how grateful I am for this opportunity. Thank you to the entire Heartstopper crew & cast for making me feel so welcomed and supported,” she wrote at the time.

The young talent has remained mum on the details surrounding her role until now.

During London’s National Student Pride on 11 February, Priestley revealed more info on her character – who’s set to start a friendship with Yasmin Finney’s Elle Argent.

“I play a girl called Naomi, and I have a strong friendship with Elle,” she revealed during a panel discussion. “I think [it will] be really nice for everyone to see two trans girls conquering the world.”

The 19-year-old TikToker also added that season two has done a great job at “breaking more boundaries.”

“They’re reaching new audiences, and they’re looking at new things. I’ve seen the trailer, and I’ve watched [it], and it’s going to be amazing. I’m excited for everyone to see it,” she added.

Priestley’s recent statement comes a couple of months after the show wrapped production on the new batch of episodes.

Taking to Instagram on 2 December, Oseman wrote: “It’s been an incredibly intense few months on set with many new challenges for the cast and crew, but everyone rose to those challenges with such passion and skill and determination.

“Huge thanks to every single member of the cast and crew – everyone has worked ridiculously hard and given it their all, and for that, I am eternally grateful. This season is going to be so magical, and I can’t wait to get started on post-production!”

As of this writing, Netflix has yet to reveal an official release date for the new batch of episodes.

We can’t wait to see Priestley make her debut in Heartstopper season two.
