Attention American Horror Story fans! The first teaser for season 12 has arrived.
On 20 July, FX released an eye-opening sneak peek of the highly anticipated season, which is titled American Horror Story: Delicate.
At the start of the teaser, a group of dancers are shown in a circle while a creepy rendition of ‘Rock-a-Bye Baby’ plays in the background.
As the trailer progresses, mysterious tubes surrounded by fog flash across the screen while the dancers show off long black claws.
The video then transitions to shots of Emma Roberts, Kim Kardashian and Cara Delevingne as they slowly pull down their four lense glasses and flash coy smiles.
At the end of the trailer, Kardashian is shown holding a baby while the aforementioned dancers float menacingly around her.
Shortly after the trailer’s release, fans flocked to social media to express their excitement over season 12.
One fan wrote: “Everyone on the planet and the surrounding solar system will be seated for Emma Roberts’ ahs return.”
Another fan tweeted: “I am actually excited to see what Kim will bring… this’ll be fun!”
American Horror Story: Delicate is reportedly based on Danielle Valetine’s upcoming novel Delicate Condition.
The story follows Anna Alcott, an actress who longs for a family. After deciding to go through the IVF process to get pregnant, strange and unusual things begin to occur that threaten her dreams of becoming a mother.
“Crucial medicines are lost. Appointments get swapped without her knowledge,” the book’s synopsis reads.
“Cryptic warnings have her jumping at shadows. And despite everything she’s gone through to make this pregnancy a reality, not even her husband is willing to believe that someone is playing twisted games with her.
“Then her doctor tells her she’s had a miscarriage―except Anna’s convinced she’s still pregnant despite everything the grave-faced men around her claim… Vague warnings become direct threats as someone stalks her through the bleak ghost town of the snowy Hamptons.
“As her symptoms and sense of danger grow ever more horrifying, Anna can’t help but wonder what exactly she’s carrying inside of her…and why no one will listen when she says something is horribly, painfully wrong.”
In addition to Roberts, Kardashian and Delevigne, the new batch of episodes will also feature Pose star Michaela Jaé Rodriguez and The Resident’s Matt Czuchry.
Halley Feiffer has been tapped as the sole writer and showrunner of the forthcoming season, which is a first for the long-running series.
As of writing, a release date for American Horror Story season 12 has yet to be announced.
