The current Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, has made history as the first world leader to appear on the Drag Race franchise.

He is set to be in an episode of its latest international spin-off, Canada vs the World, which premieres on 18 November.

It will see nine queens from global editions of the franchise go head to head as they compete to become the second Queen of the Mothertucking World.

Stars from the original US version, Canada’s Drag Race , Drag Race UK and Drag Race Down Under will take part in the challenges we have come to know and love, though details of the exact format are yet to be announced.

If it follows the structure of UK vs the World, the top two queens of the week will lip-sync for the win before deciding who gets the chop.

Competing on the season will be Anita Wigl’it, Icesis Couture, Kendall Gender, Ra’Jah O’Hara, Rita Baga, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Stephanie Prince, Vanity Milan and Victoria Scone.

Judging it will be Brooke Lynn Hytes, Brad Goreski and Traci Melchor.

The first official trailer for the season shows Trudeau entering the Werk Room as the queens scream with excitement.

It also revealed that two former winners from the franchise, Monét X Change and Priyanka, will make guest appearances on the judging panel.

Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs the World airs on BBC Three in the UK and WOW Presents Plus in the UK and other international territories on 18 November.
