“Best promo shoot ever”: Drag Race fans react to “iconic” All Stars 8 cast reveal

Drag Race fans are declaring the All Stars 8 cast reveal the “best promo of all time” after World of Wonder revealed the 12 queens competing to snatch the crown.

Premiering 12 May on Paramount Plus in the US and on WOW Presents Plus in the UK, the season sees the return of former finalists, lip-sync assassins and Miss Congenialities.

The fierce line-up is as follows: Alexis Michelle, Darienne Lake, Heidi N Closet, Jaymes Mansfield, Jessica Wild, Jimbo, Kahanna Montrese, Kandy Muse, LaLa Ri, Monica Beverly Hillz, Mrs. Kasha Davis and Naysha Lopez.

Unlike past iterations of All Stars, the season doesn’t feature many two-time queens bar Jimbo, who memorably competed on the first seasons of Canada’s Drag Race and UK vs the World.

She is now the first queen to compete on Drag Race in three different countries, as well as the first Canada’s Drag Race contestant to compete on the US version of the show.

Since the cast reveal on 20 April, fans of the series have taken to social media to share their love for the promo shoot and excitement for the new season.

One wrote: “OH MY GOD!!!!! This might be the best promo shoot ever !!!! THEY LOOK BEAUTIFUL!!! #AllStars8”

“I can truly say this is one of my favorite promo look collections,” another added. “They all look so lux & delicious. Y’all queens better do the damn thing. #AllStars8”

“I’m drunk and at a wedding reception but I’ve had a quick look and I’m pretty confident All Stars 8 promo is one of the best,” said a third.

Some fans drew comparisons between All Stars 6 and 8 in terms of how some viewers reacted to the cast reveal.

“Y’all whined and complained that All Stars 6 cast was busted and it was one of the best seasons we ever had,” one person tweeted. “#AllStars8 is giving the same energy. I feel this season will be super good.”

Another said: “Did y’all not learn your lesson from All Stars 6? Don’t underestimate these queens, this season is about to eatttt #allstars8 #rupaulsdragrace”
