Britney Spears has revealed her all-time favourite song in her discography.

With a back-catalogue of pop classics such as …Baby One More Time, Oops!… I Did It Again, I’m a Slave 4 U, Toxic, Gimme More, Womanizer and Work Bitch – honestly, we could go on – fans were surprised to discover that her personal favourite is a track that didn’t even receive the single treatment.

In her latest Instagram post, the pop icon can be seen serving choreo to Get Naked (I Got a Plan) from her lauded fifth studio album Blackout.

Although Britney claims the video/track (we’re not quite sure which she’s referring to) is “not that great” (but we disagree on both accounts), she declared the Danja and Jim Beans-produced electropop banger as “my favourite song I’ve ever done”.

“It was really weird because my dancers took the stage for this song! Oh well! I listened to this song today and actually realized it for the first time,” she wrote.

“I guess it was all those rules you know! Guess all those rules and not having a voice for 13 years in what I wanted gave a lot of people a thrill ride! Oh well!”

She concluded her post by telling her followers that “things aren’t too shabby” for her because she’s travelling to London “next week to go shopping”.

Blackout, which consists of singles such as Gimme More, Piece of Me and Break the Ice, is widely considered by fans and critics as Britney’s best album as a result of its innovative production and for its influence on pop music.

In 2012, the album was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and various pop stars – such as Charli XCX, Slayyyter, Rina Sawayama and Ava Max – have credited the era as an inspiration on their own careers.

While fans have been clamouring for new material from Britney, she confirmed in the same Instagram post that she’s officially “quit” the music industry. Her last album, Glory, was released in 2016.

Following the end of her highly-publicised conservatorship, however, Britney memorably made her pop music comeback with the Elton John collaboration Hold Me Closer, which reached the top 10 in various countries including the UK and U.S.
