Netflix has renewed Èlite for season seven, and it’ll be featuring the return of an original star.
On 25 October, the popular series announced the news via their social media accounts with a brand new teaser.
“Meet the new faces joining #Elite7 👀 watch out for a surprise,” the series wrote on Instagram.
Throughout the short clip, an array of new actors were announced – including Mirela Balic, Gleb Abrosimov, Nadia Al Saidi, and Fernando Líndez.
However, the biggest surprise was saved for last when Omar Ayuso – who played Omar Shanaa in the first five seasons – was announced as part of the cast.
Shortly after the teaser was uploaded, fans took to social media to express their excitement over his inclusion.
One fan wrote: “We’ve got new cast members, and Omar is back on #Elite Season 7!? Oh. My. God. Ahhhh…*screaming internally*.”
Another fan said: “Thank god Omar is coming back to elite bc I was on the fence about watching season 7.”

Netflix’s renewal of Elite comes a few weeks before the release of the highly anticipated sixth season on 18 November.
The new batch of episodes are set to take place after Samuel García Domínguez’s (Itzan Escamilla) shocking death.
“Las Encinas faces a new school year trying to have a facelift by covering up disasters of the past,” the synopsis reads.
“However, the conflict in its classrooms is systemic: racism, sexism, domestic abuse or LGTBI-phobia are just a few of the difficult issues that will run through the hallways of the prestigious institution this season.
“If those who run the system do not actively take action to address these issues, it will have to be the students themselves who do so.”
Manu Ríos (Patrick) André Lamoglia (Iván), Carla Díaz (Ari), Valentina Zenere (Isadora), Martina Cariddi (Mencía) and Adam Nourou (Bilal) will all be returning to the series.
The show will also feature an array of new faces, including Ander Puig, Carmen Arrufat, Álvaro de Juana, Ana Bokesa, and Álex Pastrana.
