World of Wonder has picked up a second season of Jinkx Monsoon and Liam Krug’s hilarious new series, Sketchy Queens.

Announcement of its renewal coincides with the season finale, which airs today on WOW Presents Plus.

In a statement, World of Wonder co-founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbardo said the series “had us all in stitches” and that WOW viewers “can’t get enough”, adding: “Who knew Jinkx Monsoon was such a Sketchy Queen? Turns out everyone knows now!”

Jinkx said: “Liam and I are so thrilled to start the long, hilarious, disjointed process that goes into creating another season of Sketchy Queens! Sketchy Queens Season 2 is going to be bigger and more wild– with more celebrity guests and plenty of that dry, esoteric wit we’re so damn proud of.

“We’re grateful to World of Wonder for believing in our show and allowing us true creative freedom. Thank you for watching, and here’s to more!”

Sketchy Queens premiered after Jinkx participated on the seventh season of All Stars, which reunited eight of the fiercest champions from Drag Race’s herstory.

After defeating legendary contestants such as Monét X Change, Trinity the Tuck and Shea Couleé, Jinkx became the first two-time winner of Drag Race and the first-ever ‘Queen of All Queens’.

The sketch show, co-created with her comedy partner Liam Krug, features celebrity impersonations, wacky new characters and alternative versions of the internationally-tolerated comedienne, as well as special guest stars such as Trixie Mattel, Katya, Brittany Broski and Brandon Rogers.

Jinkx and Liam will both return for season two, as well as executive producers Barbato, Bailey and Tom Campbell from World of Wonder.

Speaking with GAY TIMES last month, Jinkx said she was “so excited” for Sketchy Queens to come to fruition because, “I don’t think I ever appear as Jinkx Monsoon in Sketchy Queens, and that just means you get to see all the different kinds of characters that I keep inside my head.”

On this next phase in her career, the star continued: “I think the phrase ‘work smart and not harder’ comes to mind. What you can expect from the next phase is taking everything I’ve been doing to its logical conclusion. I’m focusing a lot more on scripted work.

“Whether the script is by myself or me and DeLa, or by some other brilliant writer, I’m finding a lot of joy in really leaning into scripted work and I feel like that’s when you get the best presentation of something.

“I’ll always be a live entertainer and have room in my schedule for my music tours with Major Scales, my holiday tour with BenDeLaCreme, but I do wanna see where I can take this in the realm of scripted. Those are the offers I’m fielding the most right now.”

The entire first season of Sketchy Queens is available now exclusively on WOW Presents Plus.
