Sam Smith’s fourth studio album, Gloria, has become the artist’s third chart-topping record in the UK after reaching the top spot this week.

“Thank you to all my amazing sailors who have made Gloria this week’s Number 1 album,” they told Official Charts. “I’m truly overwhelmed and could not have done this without you. I love you all, this is for us.”

Gloria also debuted at number one on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, holding off fierce competition from The Highlights by The Weeknd, Midnights by Taylor Swift and SOS by SZA to top both charts this week.

The album includes tracks such as I’m Not Here to Make Friends, Love Me More, Gimme and the Kim Petras-assisted Unholy, which became both artist’s first chart-topper on the US Billboard Hot 100.

They made history in the process as the first openly trans and non-binary musicians to reach the chart’s summit.
