Upcoming musician Reneé Rapp has shared news of new music and we can’t wait to tell you all about it.

Taking to Twitter, the Everything To Everyone singer revealed her debut LP Snow Angel is ready but there’s a twist – Rapp is taking a new creative direction.

“My album was done. I had all the songs. I even had the lead single picked out, too. I spent 4 months writing nearly every day. I spit out all my concepts, all my ballads, my f*ck you’s and my I love you’s. We rented out studios in Jersey while I was filming Mean Girls and cried in damn near every studio in the valley. fast forward May 8th probably 11pm. Alexander and I were supposed to be finishing vocals but we decided to try a hail mary,” Renee shared in an online note.

The former GAY TIMES Amplify star explained her encounter with a “traumatic experience” which informed her decision to write “that snow song”.

“We stayed up. We wrote it that night and recorded it the next day. May 15th we sent it to my team. while I was prepping the previously decided single video, my manager Adam called me and told me to stop, and that we were changing everything […]  They believed in the song as much as I did… that meant everything.” she posted.

Renee concluded: “I have never been simultaneously so proud and scared of a song in my life. I’m very sarcastic and I make a lot of jokes, but this one is f*cking different. This was all supposed to happen this way, and this was the song you were supposed to hear first.”

Rapp’s forthcoming single, Snow Angel, will be out on June 9, while her debut album of the same name will be out on August 18.

Rapp released her debut EP, Everything To Everyone, via Polydor UK in November 2022. Rapp’s hit track Too Well was included in GAY TIMES’ round-up of best songs from 2022.

Alongside her breakout music career, Rapp has been filming a movie version of Mean Girls: The Musical, in which she stars as Plastics leader Regina George.
