Piers Morgan has branded a drawing of him with his face in Donald Trump’s butt “homophobic”.

The Good Morning Britain host, who’s made a career on the back of controversy and outrage, has hit out at the BBC for featuring the lewd cartoon during an episode of The Mash Report, a satirical news show.

The drawing depicts Piers performing anilingus with the US president, and was shown on Thursday 1 February’s episode.

Sharing a screengrab of the cartoon on Twitter, Piers wrote: “The BBC thinks this is OK to broadcast. But if it depicted high profile women, there would be outrage. Why the double standard?”

When asked by a follower whether he was offended, he replied: “I don’t give a damn but I’m amazed BBC2 would broadcast an image like that, and judging by the reaction to my tweet about it, so are a lot of other people.

“Is that how licence payer money should be spent?”

Piers went on to tweet the image at least four times, and retweeted the same one from many others.

He also accused the cartoon of being ‘homophobic’, writing: “If Trump tweeted an image like this depicting Hillary Clinton & a female interviewer, all those currently celebrating would erupt with outraged cries of ‘Sexist!’ ‘Misogynist!’ ‘Homophobic!’”

Many spoke out in support of Piers, however other people weren’t convinced that he was a victim in the situation.

Speaking to the MailOnline, a BBC spokesperson said: “The BBC has a rich heritage of satire and The Mash Report takes a satirical and surreal look at the week’s big stories.

“This brand of humour is well known to BBC Two audiences who tune in to watch the programme.”

Do you think the drawing was homophobic?
