Grab your costumes! LOOSE CHANGE has announced a new Halloween-themed event just in time for spooky season.

On 1 October, the “cause-centred” queer club night is ringing in All Hallows’ Eve with their brand new event, DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.

The sure-to-be iconic night will be held at the Dalston-based Latino Hits venue and is set to feature show-stopping DJ sets from singer-songwriter Foxgluvv, DJ Xzan and blacc mamba.

Alongside the evening’s electric musical talent, trans activist Sabah Choudrey, gal-dem editor Suyin Hayes, and singer GIRLI will also be awarding mini prizes to the attendees with the best looks of the night.

Lastly, the event will be raising money to support the LGBTQ+ homelessness charity Stonewall Housing.

For those just getting acquainted with LOOSE CHANGE, the impactful club night was co-founded by Matt Horwood, Alex Atherton, Danny Nasr, and Josh Willacy in May.

Since that fateful day, the four friends have hosted two popular events – WONDERLAND and HEATWAVE – which raised money for trans charity Gendered Intelligence and queer service London Friend, respectively.

With the beloved event showing no signs of slowing down, Atherton, Nsar, and Willacy opened up about the importance of LOOSE CHANGE in an exclusive statement to GAY TIMES.

“Nightlife is so integral to many of us in the queer community. And inclusive, safe and fun nightlife environments can provide space for us to fully feel ourselves and be ourselves. It’s vital we hold onto that, and if we can contribute positively to that with LOOSE CHANGE, then we’re happy with that,” Atherton explained.

Nsar echoed similar sentiments stating: “Queer charities have never been more needed, as our community continues to experience rising hate crimes, transphobia and disproportionate poor mental health. Simultaneously so many of the vital services set up to support queer people facing these issues are experiencing funding cuts. So when we decided to make LOOSE CHANGE, it being a fundraiser was always a hugely important part of us doing it.”

In an additional statement, Willacy said that LOOSE CHANGE is meant to “create something for everybody” and promote diversity within the LGBTQ+ sphere.

“We’re proud to have worked with some incredible trans, PoC and women DJs and to have (we hope) created events where all partygoers feel welcome and have been able to have a fun time!”
