Barry Keoghan has opened up about his viral nude scene in Saltburn.

Directed by Promising Young Woman’s Emerald Fennell, the psychological thriller is described as a “beautifully wicked tale of privilege” set in 2006.
The synopsis reads: “Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick (Keoghan) finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten.”
Saltburn’s ensemble cast also includes Rosamund Pike as Elsbeth Catton, Richard E. Grant as Sir James Catton, Alison Oliver as Venetia Catton, Archie Madekwe as Farleigh Start and Carey Mulligan as “Poor Dear” Pamela.

Since its theatrical release in November, the film has received universal acclaim from fans and critics – with many praising its dark humour, boundary-pushing plot and cast performances.
However, one aspect of Saltburn that has garnered much attention from viewers is Keoghan’s final scene in the movie.
After killing Elspeth Catton (Pike), which results in him securing the entire Catton fortune and the Saltburn estate, Oliver (Keoghan) is shown dancing about the mansion naked to ‘Murder on the Dancefloor.’
Due to Keoghan going full frontal, many fans were curious if he performed the scene with a prosthetic penis or au naturel.
One fan on X wrote: “WAS THAT A PROSTHETIC SIR? THE PEOPLE NEED ANSWERS @BarryKeoghan.”

Another user commented: “Soooooo Saltburn was fucking AMAZING!!!! Barry Keoghan is such a good actor! Also was that a prosthetic?”
A third fan added: “I heard in ‘Saltburn’ Barry Keoghan -Oliver- wasn’t wearing a prosthetic in the final scene.”
Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait for Keoghan’s answer, with the 31-year-old talent having already confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he was, in fact, fully nude with no prosthetic help.
During a November interview with the news outlet, the Eternals star gave insight into how he crafted the scene and his initial hesitancy to bare it all.
“The initial thing was about me having no clothes on. I’m a bit, ehhh. But after take one, I was ready to go. I was like, Let’s go again. Let’s go again,'” he explained.
“You kind of forget because there’s such a comfortable environment created, and it gives you that license to go, ‘All right, this is about the story now.”
Towards the end of his statement, Keoghan praised the aforementioned scene as the perfect end for the film and his character.
“It totally felt right. It’s ownership. This is my place. It’s full confidence in, ‘I can do what I want in this manor. I can strip to my barest and waltz around because this is mine.’ Yeah, it was fun.”
