Fans react to Shangela’s “camp” moment from Dancing with the Stars’ latest episode

Drag Race star Shangela turned heads after her latest Dancing with the Stars appearance.

Back in September, the A Star Is Born actor made history as the first drag performer to compete in the US iteration of Dancing with the Stars.

Over the last few weeks, Shangela and her partner Gleb Savchenko have delivered show-stopping routines ranging from the Quick Step, Salsa, Rumba, Foxtrot, Cha-cha-cha, and the Charleston.

On the latest episode of the long-running series, the Drag Race alum and Savchenko shined throughout their sensual tango routine during Michael Bublé night.

However, it was the end of her sickening performance that truly left fans gagged.

During the judge’s critiques, the We’re Here star asked judge Len Goodman if her legs “were crispy” due to his previous critiques of her technique.

In response to the beloved entertainer, the longtime judge happily replied that they were “flexed”, which led to Shangela’s hilarious Drag Race-esque reveal featuring fried chicken.

“My mama said make sure I give you this crispy chicken to make sure that my crispy legs were just as crispy. Halleloo,” she told the judges as she removed a plastic-wrapped fried chicken leg.

The hilarious moment not only left the judges in stitches but also DWTS host Tyra Banks.

“Wait, did you dance this entire time with a piece of fried chicken in your décolleté,” she asked, to which the drag superstar responded: “I danced with two pieces of fried chicken.”

After Shangela’s shocking revelation, Tyra left viewers gobsmacked when she took a bite out of the aforementioned piece of chicken.

Shortly after the episode aired, fans flocked to social media that share their thoughts on the jawdropping moment.


One fan wrote: “NOT TYRA EATING SHANGELA’S BOOB CHICKEN???”

Another fan tweeted: “Imma just say it. Tyra ain’t worthy of #Shangela’s boob chicken. Not by a long-shot.”

In an additional interview with Entertainment Weekly, Shangela gave further insight into the hilarious moment.

“I’m a Texan, I’m no stranger to having chicken close to my heart, and tonight I delivered,” she said.

When asked about Tyra’s response, the beloved talent say she was “impressed” by the former Top Model host.

“I was impressed. Baby, let me tell you something if you know how to go in on a piece of fried chicken, you come to my cookout anytime and Trya has a golden invitation,” she added.

While Shangela had the gag planned well in advance, her partner Savchenko was left in the dark.

“I had no idea until the end. Before the dance, I saw something tucked in, and I was like, ‘oh, maybe it’s the glitter,’ but then no, it’s fried chicken,” he revealed.

Towards the end of the interview, Shangela revealed that she didn’t tell Savchenko because she wanted him to be focused on her choreography.

“I want him to definitely be laser-focused on that, but you know I’m Shangela, I like to bring a little fun, a little spontaneity, a little surprise, and it was one for him, too,” she added.
