A film with Drag Race UK star Cara Melle slaying bloodsucking vampires? SIGN US UP!

On 9 November, fans were left devastated after the sickening talent was asked to sashay away from the UK-based competition.

After receiving less-than-stellar critiques for her romantic drama screen tests, Cara was placed in the bottom two alongside her “best friend” Michael Marouli.

To the sound of ‘Touch Me (I Want Your Body)’ by Samantha Fox, the two queens delivered an epic lip-sync full of twists, turns, and intricate dance moves.

Sadly, the performance also saw Cara experiencing a slight tumble on stage.

While she transformed her fall into an iconic moment, the London-based talent was still asked to leave the competition, which did not please fans.

One X (formerly known as Twitter) user wrote: “Cara Melle you will be THOROUGHLY MISSED. Icon and 100% a drag race UK legend.”

Another fan wrote: “Nooo, the Cara Melle/Michael Marouli lip-sync should have been a double save.”

Even though Cara is no longer on our TV screens, her life post-Drag Race UK has certainly been busy.

In a recent interview with GAY TIMES, the beloved talent spilt all the tea on her future projects, including her new film role.

“I was actually in South Africa for a whole month while this airing has been going down. I was filming a movie. Uh huh, I’m starring in a movie, darling,” she revealed.

When asked for further insight into the project, the talented dancer revealed that it’s a vampire comedy.

“It’s called Slay. Obviously you think of drag queens and ‘slay the house down mama’ – all that. It is about a drag queen girl group touring through the US, going to all the worst shit holes,” she explained.

“But then they came across this one gig, and it’s a full-on dive bar with the most straight, homophobic crowd you could think of. They end up doing the performance anyway and then, all of a sudden, it’s overrun by vampires. Now, they’re having to fight for their lives, baby!

“There’s a lot of action going on and CGI that we’re going to be doing. There’s a lot of blood. I had to fight for my life in the middle of the woods, baby – in the middle of Africa, actually.”

Cara also revealed that Drag Race alumni Trinity the Tuck, Heidi N Closet, and Crystal Methyd are set to star in the film.

“We’re talking Buffy the Vampire Slayer. We’re talking AJ and the Queen[The Adventures of] Priscilla, Queen of the Desert meets Underworld!],” she added.

While Cara didn’t share a release date for Slay, she did say that the film will be coming out in the near future.

“I haven’t been given a release date, but I’ve heard they’re going to try and push this out soon!”

We need this film ASAP!
