“The worst thing to ever happen”: Ziwe fans react to show’s cancellation

Late night talk show Ziwe, which was hosted by comedian Ziwe Fumudoh, has been cancelled by Showtime after just two seasons.

Ziwe tackled many topics at the forefront of society in the US through a satirical lens, including race, culture and politics.

Guests have included the likes of Drew Barrymore, Nicole Byer and Bob the Drag Queen, among many others.

Since it premiered in May 2021, Ziwe has developed a loyal fan base who are enraged by news of the show’s cancellation.

“Just woke up and it looks like Ziwe being cancelled wasn’t a nightmare… I hate it here,” one viewer wrote on Twitter.

Another said: “I just found out that Ziwe got cancelled and I’m LIVID.”

“THEY CANCELLED ZIWE ?? LET ME GET MY 10 INCH HEELS, I’M GOING TO FIGHT,” added a third.

A fourth shared: “Ziwe getting cancelled is the worst thing to ever happen.”

The exact reason for Ziwe’s cancellation is unknown, though Showtime has been going through drastic changes since its chief executive, David Nevins, left in 2022.

A number of shows, such as The L Word: Generation Q and The Wood, have since been cancelled.
