Vlogger and TV presenter Adam B has come out as gay in a heartfelt video.

On 22 July, the beloved social media personality – whose full name is Adam Beales – uploaded the nine-minute video to his YouTube, which boasts nearly 3.5 million subscribers.

Before opening up about his coming out journey, the former Blue Peter presenter waved a Progress Pride Flag before stating: “I’m gay, I’ve said it.”

The video then transitioned to the 22-year-old being joined by his parents and younger brother.

“I’ve finally told you something that I was meaning to tell you for a very long time,” he continued. “One thing that I love about these guys is that when I told them, nothing changed… and that’s the best feeling ever.”

He went on to say that since sharing his sexuality with his family he’s been able to “love life.”

“I wanted to create this video to show you guys my journey, to show you the way in which I decided to do it,” he explained.

“I think the important message is just to open up and talk about whatever’s on your mind. This is about anything that you feel like you’re worried about or anything that you want to speak about, just open up.

“Because opening up to these guys was the best thing ever. Honestly, I was instantly a hundred times, a million times better when I told them.”

Adam also revealed that he has a boyfriend – which he said was “so weird to say out loud” in between laughs.

“It just feels so good to be able to like share more of my life with you know and being able to in such a way that I’m not scared anymore and in such a way that I’m happy to share,” he said.

Elsewhere in the video, the young talent said that he started to explore his sexuality after moving to Manchester for his Blue Peter hosting gig – which recently concluded on 15 July.

Adam went on to share clips of his final day and the emotional moment he came out to his co-workers and friends.

“One big thing I’ve been working on recently is just, being more me, and being more happy, and I just wanna let you guys know that you let me open up and be more myself, and I’d just like to let you know, I am gay,” he said, which earned a warm response from his colleagues.

At the end of the video, the YouTube star said that while he may not know what his fans will think or say, he would “still be living in fear” if he didn’t come out.

“Love should never mean having to live in fear. This is the most vulnerable I’ve felt in a really, really long time, and you know what, it’s the best I’ve felt my entire life,” he added.
