Queen of the Universe has been cancelled after two seasons.
On 23 June, the popular streamer announced they would be parting ways with four of its programs, including the international drag-singing competition.
“The Paramount+ series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Star Trek: Prodigy, Queen of the Universe and The Game have completed their runs on Paramount+ and will not be returning to the service,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
“We want to extend our thanks to our tremendously talented cast and crew and our producing partners for their passionate work and dedication on these programs, and we wish them all the best on their future endeavours.”
Alongside its cancellation, Paramount+ revealed that the entire series – which was hosted by Graham Norton – would be removed from the platform by 30 June.
In an additional statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the streamer further explained why they decided to part ways with the aforementioned series.
“As we prepare to combine Paramount+ and Showtime later this month in the US, we are refining our content offering to deliver the best streaming experience for subscribers,” they said.
“This is consistent with our content strategy since launch and across our business, which ensures we make smart, efficient choices, informed by audience data and insights. We are removing select programming as we look to optimize Showtime’s robust slate of premium originals.”

Shortly after the news made headlines, fans took to social media to express their sadness over the show’s cancellation.
One fan tweeted: “Queens of the Universe being cancelled during pride month????”
Another fan wrote: “Honestly Queen of the Universe getting cancelled so suddenly feels so unfair for the queens, like they worked so hard for it and now they just get nothing… like.”
The cancellation of Queen of the Universe comes a day after the remaining four episodes of season two dropped on the platform – which featured Mexican drag superstar Taiga Brava taking home the crown.
“Thank you, everybody, for this opportunity. I’m very grateful right now and I just hope that I get to share this message of love and acceptance and tolerance all over the world and just f**king be yourself,” she said while accepting her crown.
Taiga also expressed her excitement for being the competition’s second winner, writing: “THERE IS A CROWN FOR MEXICO! WE WIN QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSEEE, FUCK I CAN’T BELIEVE IT. VIVA MEXICO.”
Across its two seasons, Queen of the Universe highlighted talented drag queens from all corners of the world as they “battled for global domination”, (bragging rights) and a cash prize of $250,000.
Michelle Visage, Trixie Mattel and Vanessa Williams were featured on the judges’ panel for two seasons, with Mel B joining the trio after Leona Lewis exited the series.
