Netflix have unveiled the new cast members for Elite’s upcoming fourth season.

In May, the streaming service shocked fans when they announced the departure of five major stars: Mina El Hammani (Nadia); Danna Paola Lucrecia (Lu); Ester Expósito (Carla); Álvaro Rico (Polo) and Jorge López (Valerio).

Mina, Danna, Ester and Álvaro have all been with the series since the first season, while Jorge joined in season two. Since the news, fans have been waiting in anticipation to find out which actors will take their place and make their Las Encinas debut.

On Twitter (20 July), Elite’s official account welcomed Manu Rios, Carla Díaz, Martina Cariddi and Pol Granch to the “Élite family” and shared photos of the new cast on set with Itzan Escamilla (Samu), Miguel Bernardeau (Guzmán), Arón Piper (Ander), Omar Shana (Omar), Claudia Salas (Rebeca) and Georgina Amorós (Cayetana).

In a press release, Netflix said the stars will be “part of the universe of Las Encinas, one way or the other,” and that their characters “will cross paths with Guzmán, Samuel, Ander, Omar, Rebeca and Cayetana.”

There’s no official release date for Elite season four, but if it follows in the footsteps of the past three seasons, then we can expect a March 2021 premiere.

Since Elite’s debut in 2018, the series has received universal critical acclaim, with particular praise aimed at the relationship between LGBTQ+ characters Omar and Ander, who have been dubbed ‘Omander’ by fans.

Last year, the series won Outstanding Scripted Television Series (Spanish-Language) at the GLAAD Media Awards.

The show is one of Netflix’s best performing Spanish originals, with the most recent third season being viewed by over 20 million households.

The first three seasons of Elite are available to stream on Netflix.
