Married At First Sight UK star Ella Morgan has praised Big Brother UK’s Hallie for her powerful coming out moment.
On Sunday (8 October), the iconic “social experiment” made its comeback after a five-year hiatus with an eclectic mix of Britons and scored high ratings for ITV, with approximately 2.5 million viewers tuning in.
Co-hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, the premiere was widely praised on social media for the casting, with many comparing the vibe to “early seasons” of Big Brother rather than its influencer-heavy latter years.
In addition to the aforementioned praises, viewers have also lauded the show for including an array of LGBTQIA+ housemates, like Hallie, who came out as trans in the 9 October episode.
“I thought I’d let everyone know I’m trans, if you didn’t know already,” she exclaimed. “I just thought I’d make that loud and clear. I’m a trans woman, if you didn’t know.”
Since coming out, Hallie has been met with praise and acceptance from her houseguests, viewers and her fellow reality TV peers, including openly trans MAFSUK star Morgan.
In a recent interview with Metro, the 29-year-old star lauded the Big Brother star for her courage.
“To be 18 years old and do what she’s doing takes so much courage,” she told the news outlet. “I’m 29, and I’, sh**ing myself doing this so she doesn’t need my advice, she’s killing.”
Morgan also added that Hallie handled her coming out better than she did on Married At First Sight UK.

“I think she’s just incredible, she did a better job than I did,” she added. “I don’t think she needs any advice, I think she’s bossing it – she’s absolutely incredible.”
Back in September, Morgan made history as the first-ever openly trans contestant to feature on MAFSUK.
After being paired up with Nathaniel Valentine, the 29-year-old delivered a heartfelt coming-out speech to her fellow castmates.
“When I was born, I appeared very different to how I do today. My mom gave birth to four boys. Three brothers, and then me,” she said at the start of her speech.
“My mom asked me when I was younger if I was gay, and I said, ‘No mom, I’m a woman.’ She said, ‘You want to be a girl?’ I said, ‘No. I am a girl, ‘I’ve never questioned who I am. I’ve always known I’m Ella inside.
Like Hallie, Morgan was immediately embraced by her castmates, who showered her with nothing but love and support.
In an interview with GAY TIMES, the clinic consultant from Weston-Super-Mare opened up about the overwhelmingly positive response to her inclusion in the show and her coming out announcement.
“So many people have messaged me, and I don’t know, I can’t even – there’s no words to describe it,” Ella explains. “It’s the best feeling in the world of knowing that you’ve got so many supporters out there.”
