BREAKING NEWS ALERT: We finally have a release date for the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

The critically-acclaimed series will sashay back onto BBC Three and BBC iPlayer on – dramatic drum roll please – 22 September, and will run for 10 episodes.

Season four will see the return of RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr as regular panellists.

BBC recently confirmed the slate of guest stars, including Hannah Waddingham, Dame Joanna Lumley, Alison Hammond, Boy George, Lorraine Pascale, Mel B, Leomie Anderson, Olly Alexander and FKA Twigs.

Strictly Come Dancing hosts Tess Daly and AJ Odudu will also “offer up their best blankety blanks” in the Snatch Game, while Strictly dancer Giovanni Pernice puts the queens “through their paces” for an all-singing, all-dancing challenge.

Irish comedian Aisling Bea “drops by to bring some comedy to the competition” and legendary singer-songwriter Cathy Dennis provides the contestants with “a songwriting masterclass”.

Back in June, Norton told GAY TIMES that the new season is “really impressive” and boasts “some of the best queens we’ve ever seen”.

Although the presenter was unable to divulge much about the new season because he’s “totally under oath”, he described it as a “post-COVID season”.

“It was very hard for the [season three] queens in COVID because they weren’t making any money and lots of the dressmakers had stopped working,” teased Graham. “I think it was really hard during COVID, so this is definitely a post-COVID season and it’s great. You can look forward to it. You don’t need to worry!”

According to the BBC, the first three seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK have been streamed over 51 million times on BBC iPlayer, making it one of the network’s most successful series for young audiences.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season four will return to BBC Three and BBC iPlayer on 22 September at 9pm.
