Drag Race UK is making herstory with the cast of its highly anticipated fourth season, which is set to be released in just a few weeks.

As per, the queens will duke it out week after week in a variety of challenges, runway presentations and lip-sync smackdowns, as well as the iconic Snatch Game.

On 7 September, BBC Three ru-vealed the 12 fierce queens that are in the running to become Britain’s Next Drag Superstar: Baby, Black Peppa, Cheddar Gorgeous, Copper Topp, Dakota Schiffer, Danny Beard, Jonbers Blonde, Just May, Le Fil, Pixie Polite, Sminty Drop and Starlet.

Dakota will make herstory as the first openly trans contestant to compete on Drag Race UK, with Danny becoming the first bearded queen to bring it to the runway on both the UK and US versions of the show.

“I’m so excited to represent my trans sisters, siblings, and brothers, and I can’t wait,” Dakota told the BBC.

She also stated that she initially “struggled to embrace my feminine side and drag gave me the escape I needed to come out as trans and embrace all of my inner femininity,” further adding that she has “dreamed of being on this show since I first watched it.”

During their Meet the Queens intro video, Danny reflected on their historic casting: “I am the first bearded queen on Drag Race UK. I am making herstory here with my hairy chinny chin chin – don’t shave it, save it.”

Season four premieres 22 September on BBC Three and iPlayer and will see the return of RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr as regular panellists.

It will include a plethora of iconic guest stars including Hannah Waddingham, Dame Joanna Lumley, Alison Hammond, Boy George, Lorraine Pascale, Mel B, Leomie Anderson, Olly Alexander and FKA Twigs.
