Latrice Royale has been added to the season four cast of We’re Here.
The legendary queen joins fellow alumni Jaida Essence Hall, Priyanka and Sasha Velour as a series host.
Latrice memorably shot to superstardom as a contestant on the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, where she placed fourth and won the title of ‘Miss Congeniality’.
She made her comeback in the first and fourth seasons of Drag Race All Stars, respectively sashaying away in joint seventh/eighth (with Manila Luzon) and fifth place.
We’re Here‘s first three seasons were led by Drag Race icons Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka O’Hara and Shangela.
The series followed the trio as they travelled across the US to recruit small-town residents to participate in one-night-only drag shows.
Released to universal critical acclaim, the HBO series has won a plethora of awards – including a Primetime Emmy, a Peabody and two GLAAD Media Awards for Outstanding Reality Program.
Season four is not only shaking up its cast, but the format too: the quartet will spread their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent in just two US cities, which are yet to be confirmed.
Following the announcement, Latrice wrote on Instagram: “I can shout it from the rooftops!!! I have officially join the @werehere #family!!!
“Joining my sisters in efforts to spread #Love and #Awareness throughout this Land! So excited and #Blessed.”
In a statement, creators Stephen Warren and Johnnie Ingram said: “In this increasingly hostile political climate, we are grateful to HBO for their dedication to telling LGBTQ+ stories that meet the moment and document our history.
“We are thrilled to expand our drag family and give much-needed love to the people on the front lines of hate.”
A release date for season four of We’re Here is yet to be confirmed.
