The date for the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Starscast announcement has been ru-vealed.

According to Sherri Shepherd, the new batch of queens returning to battle it out for a spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame will make their first appearance on her self-titled talk show, Sherri, on 9 May.

The actress and comedian made the announcement to coincide with the appearance of the stars of NBC sitcom Lopes Vs. Lopez, father-daughter duo George and Mayan Lopez.

Mayan, a Drag Race superfan, memorably guest-starred on the show’s 16th season. She gushed about her stint to Shepherd, describing drag queens as the “most incredible creatures and artists”, adding: “And I strive to hustle like a drag queen!”

All Stars routinely airs after the regular season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, which will air its final episode this Friday (19 April) as Sapphira Cristál, Plane Jane and Nymphia Wind battle it out for the title of ‘America’s Next Drag Superstar’ and a cash prize of $200,000.

The most recent season of All Stars saw Jimbo conquer over Kandy Muse and Jessica Wild to become the 10th Drag Race Hall of Famer after Alaska, Chad Michaels, Trixie Mattel, Monét X Change, Trinity the Tuck, Shea Couleé and Kylie Sonique Love.

With her win, the Canada’s Drag Race star made herstory as the first international queen to win a US season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

If the rumoured cast of All Stars 9 is to be believed, then it will mark the smallest cast for an All Stars season to date.
