The first official trailer for RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 8 is here, and there are twists aplenty.
In the clip, RuPaul reveals that there are now “two ways” to win the competition: “The first is the traditional way. The second way, fans will determine which of our eliminated queens will win ‘Queen of the Fame Games.'”
Alongside footage of the cast in the werkroom and on the main stage, the queens can be seen forming alliances and “protecting” one another. “This will go from Best Friend’s Race to Enemies Race real fast,” says Heidi N Closet.
Expect a star-studded line-up of guest judges as per, with the trailer revealing icons such as Bowen Yang, JoJo Siwa, Idina Menzel, Zooey Deschanel, Matt Rogers and Maude Apatow.
Deep breath for even more sickening star power: Brandon Boyd, Thom Filicia, Javicia Leslie, Ego Nwodim, Adam Shankman and Robin Thede.
In similar vein to season 15, the recurring judges will consist of Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews, and Ts Madison.
The eighth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars premieres 12 May on Paramount Plus in the U.S. and on WOW Presents Plus in the UK.
All Stars 8 follows the finale of season 15, which saw GAY TIMES cover star Sasha Colby conquer over Anetra, Mistress Isabelle Brooks and Luxx Noir London, becoming the first trans woman of colour to win in the process.
The fierce line-up for All Stars 8 is as follows: Alexis Michelle, Darienne Lake, Heidi N Closet, Jaymes Mansfield, Jessica Wild, Jimbo, Kahanna Montrese, Kandy Muse, LaLa Ri, Monica Beverly Hillz, Mrs. Kasha Davis and Naysha Lopez.
The winner will join Chad Michaels, Alaska, Trixie Mattel, Monét X Change, Trinity the Tuck, Shea Couleé, Kylie Sonique Love and Jinkx Monsoon – our reigning “Queen of All Queens” – in the Drag Race Hall of Fame.
