From wedding planner extraordinare Jeanie Gold to AT&T operator Sholanda Dykes, Roger Smith has rightfully earned his status as television’s most iconic “fey, pansexual, alcohol non-human” drag queen.

To commemorate the 350th episode of American Dad, the alien’s hilarious transformations are finally – we repeat, finally – being recognised, with Drag Race winners Trixie Mattel and Trinity the Tuck hailing him as a “drag hero”.

The animated comedy’s network TBS has announced a new campaign in which every quote-tweet the below video receives with the hashtag #AmericanDrag will result in a $1 donation to LGBTQ+ non-profit organisation the Trevor Project. TBS will donate up to $20,000 total.

“Roger has been in drag too many times to count,” Trixie starts the video, before Trinity describes him as a “true queen” who has “glammed herself in and out of trouble, all while setting trends and stealing mens.”

“On top of all this,” Trixie continues, “the fans have decided that Roger should embrace his inner queen with her next persona. Ladies and gentleman: Gelatiné Lychee.”

Leading up to American Dad’s milestone episode, the network unveiled “#TheNextRoger contest”, where fans submitted artwork and backstories for Roger’s next persona. Instagram user @codfac won with a “sassy drag queen” who hosts “a popular podcast about breakfast and blowjobs.”

After a hilarious back-and-forth about the pronunciation of Gelatiné Lychee, Trinity declares Roger as “part of Drag Herstory, periodt.”
