Calvin Harris and Sam Smith announce new single Promises

Are you ready for the song of the summer?

We all know that anything producer Calvin Harris touches turns to gold, and while it seems that he’s collaborated with almost ever pop star under the sun, one person we didn’t expect him to work with is Sam Smith.

The best-selling singer-songwriter is known for his heartbreaking ballads and mum-friendly sound, so we’re interested to see what vibe he brings to Calvin’s new single Promises, which will feature Sam’s vocals.

Calvin announced the track on Twitter, saying he’s “very excited” about it and revealing it will be released this Friday.

Smash-hit maker Calvin has been riding high on the charts with his Dua Lipa collaboration One Kiss, which has been regarded by many as the biggest banger of the summer – could Promises be about to change that?

It’s not the first time Sam has contributed vocals to a dance anthem – back in 2012, he had a breakout hit with his feature on Disclosure’s Latch, and later teamed up with the electronic duo again for 2015’s Omen.

While we wait patiently, give One Kiss another listen below for an idea of what to expect.
