‘Sex Education’ will end with a fourth and final season, Netflix has announced.
The series was renewed in September 2021 after its third was met with critical acclaim.
However, its cancellation appeared to become inevitable after an array of stars announced they would not be returning, including Simone Ashley, Tanya Reynolds and Patricia Allison.
Following on from this, Ncuti Gatwa, who is set to take on the title role in ‘Doctor Who’, and Emma Mackey announced that the fourth season would mark their final appearances in ‘Sex Education’.
In a letter to fans on 4 July, creator Laurie Nunn confirmed that the show would soon come to an end.
“We are incredibly proud of Sex Education and feel indebted to our brilliant writers, cast and crew who put so much heart into making every episode,” she wrote. “They have worked tirelessly to bring you the final series, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”
Asa Butterfield, Gilian Anderson, Aimee Lou Wood are among those set to appear in season four, which will arrive on Netflix this September.
Dan Levy, Jodie Turner Smith, Thaddea Graham, Lisa McGrillis, Marie Reuther and Eshaan Akbar have also joined the cast.
The final season will be released on 21 September and you can watch the trailer below or by clicking here.
