Blu Hyrdrangea has opened up about her runway budget for Drag Race UK vs the World.

Since its debut in 2009, Drag Race and its various international iterations have dominated the reality TV sphere with its charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.

Over the years, fans have fallen in love with the franchise’s camp nature and its expansive roster of talented drag queens.

However, one of the most popular aspects of each series has been the creative runway segments – which task the queens with presenting ensembles that follow a specific theme.

While many queens have left their mark on the franchise with their showstopping outfits, Blu and her looks have been praised as some of the best to grace the coveted runway.

In an Instagram video, the beloved talent gave some insight into her breathtaking Drag Race UK vs the World ensembles and revealed the hefty price tag that came along with them.

“Well you asked for it, today, I’m going to tell you how much I spent on UK vs the World, and yes, it is substantially more [than Drag Race UK], but I promise you I was one of the cheaper girls,” Blu explained.

Throughout the video, the Northern Irish queen went through each of her looks and labelled if the outfit or wig was new.

In the end, Blu revealed that she bought 15 new outfits and 12 new wigs, which came out to a grand total of £22,500.

Towards the end of the video, the Drag Race UK vs the World winner gave encouraging advice to inspiring drag performers who may be deterred by the expensive price tag.

“I didn’t go broke. I didn’t take out a loan. I was happy to spend the money, and you know what, any chance to buy new drag, I’m there,” she said.

“And you don’t need to worry, there was no prize money [and] I am surviving and thriving, babes.

“You don’t need to go broke doing Drag Race. If you have smart concepts and throw your personality into it that’s all that matters.”
