Troye Sivan has unveiled the video for Easy.

In the vulnerable new video, which he directed himself, the Aussie singer-songwriter delivers the powerful lyrics in an empty house before embodying the essence of Ziggy Stardust era David Bowie – back-up dancers and all.

Troye also embraces his inner Elio in Call Me By Your Name as he longingly stares into a fire. Oh, and there’s a rabbit.

The uptempo synthpop anthem reflects on a relationship that “hasn’t been easy” due to something – or someone – coming between them.

“I can’t even look at you, would you look at the space just next to your feet,” sings Troye. “The wood is warping, the lines distorting, this house is on fire, burning the tears right off my face.”

Easy is Troye’s second single of 2020 after Take Yourself Home, both of which will be included on his upcoming six-track EP, In a Dream.

“A story that’s still unfolding, this small collection of songs explores an emotional rollercoaster period in my life when the feelings and thoughts were most shockingly fresh,” Troye said of the EP in a statement.

“Revisiting these songs and moments is tough, but I’m proud of this music and excited to have it out in the world.”

In a Dream arrives 21 August. The four additional tracks include: could cry just thinkin about you, STUD, ranger teenager! and IN A DREAM.
