The CW have unveiled another action-packed trailer for the highly-anticipated Charmed reboot.

The trailer sees the three main leads (played by Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz, and Sarah Jeffery), as they battle against demons from the Underworld (see below).

Charmed is set to premiere on E4 this autumn, and will debut in the United States 14 October on The CW.

Just like the original fan-favourite series, Charmed will follow three sister witches who discover that they’re ‘The Power of Three’, the most powerful witches in the world. They muse their powers to vanquish demons and the forces of darkness etc.

But unlike the original, the series will feature an LGBTQ character in Mel Pruitt (Diaz), a “strong-willed feminist” lesbian in her mid-20s with a police detective girlfriend called Soo-Jin. Like Piper Halliwell, she will be able to freeze time.

Macy (Mantock) will be endowed with telekinesis (like Prue and Paige), while Madison (Jeffrey) can hear people’s thoughts – which differs from Phoebe’s powers of premonition, levitation and empathy (although the latter two came later).

The original series aired for eight seasons from 1998-2006, and starred Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty and Rose McGowan, Brian Krause and Kaley Cuoco.

At 178 episodes, the show became the longest running hour-long television series featuring all female leads (until it was surpassed by Desperate Housewives in 2012) and the second-longest drama broadcast by The WB network.

It’s one of our favourite series, so we can’t wait to see what The CW come up with! Watch the new trailer below.
