Jessica Lange is BACK.

If you’re a fan of American Horror Story, you’ll no doubt be aware that legendary actress and fan favourite Jessica Lange is finally making her return in the current eighth season (Apocalypse) in an upcoming episode directed by Sarah Paulson.

Jessica will return as Constance Langdon, who fans will remember played the next-door neighbour of the Harmons in season one (Murder House) and ended her story arc looking after anti-christ baby Michael, who will play a big part in Apocalypse.

It marks her first appearance in the show since leaving indefinitely after the end of season four (Freak Show). Ahead of her return to our screens, creator Ryan Murphy has shared a teaser photo of Jessica and Sarah together on set.

“To celebrate 300k followers, here’s a first look at the return of Queen Constance… the one and only Lady Lange… being directed by that dynamo of wit and talent Sarah Paulson,” he wrote. “Love them both!”

It was recently revealed by FX that the show has been renewed for a tenth season, meaning we have at least two more seasons of American Horror Story to come after Apocalypse – although we wouldn’t be surprised if it carries on forever at this point.

The season eight premiere of American Horror Story received highly positive reviews from critics upon release.

Set in a not-so-far future, the premiere depicts the end of the world (shock!) at the hands of nuclear missiles, which subsequently leads to a nuclear winter. It is the much anticipated crossover between season one (Murder House) and season three (Coven).

We’ve rounded up every actor returning for Apocalypse – and some new faces, too – which you can read here.

AHS: Apocalypse airs Wednesdays in the US on FX, and will premiere 27 September in the UK on Fox.
