That Kim Petras reign just won’t let up.
The pop princess and verified ✔ hitmaker has just dropped three brand new tracks, including a long overdue team-up with producer SOPHIE and a reunion with rapper and friend lil aaron.
First is 1,2,3 dayz up, the highly-anticipated collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer SOPHIE, which sees Kim’s vocals synthesised to the heavens as she refuses to let the party end.
It also features the lyric, “I haven’t partied enough, I wanna party with Jesus,” which is already iconic in our minds.
Next is Homework, which sees the typically feel-good-pop-bop maker express her more vulnerable side as she reminisces about a childhood friend and how their lives have both changed since becoming famous.
“You used to let me cry on your shoulder, and I’ll never forget that … you always let me copy your homework, and I’ll never forget that,” she sings on the mid-tempo.
Finally, there’s If U Think About Me…, a slow-burning power ballad in the vein of Can’t Do Better that demonstrates the influence her 80s pop idols like Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Billy Idol had on her.
“I think about if you think about me, circle right down when you’re not around me, and I lie each time when I say I don’t need you-ah,” she confesses, as she modifies her signature ‘woo-ah’ to great effect.
The three new tracks close out the first era of her career, which has seen her become BFFs with Paris Hilton, collaborate with Charli XCX and Cheat Codes, make the side bun a must-have trend, and even release a (sickening) Halloween EP.
