Thailand have started their mother-tucking engines!

The first ever episode of Drag Race Thailand premiered last week, and ooh honey! The queens came to play, slay, snatch that crown, and… gawk at the Pit Crew in their Andrew Christian underwear.

Just like RuPaul’s Drag Race, the queens are required to participate in a mini-challenge, a main challenge, get critiqued by judges on the runway, and lip-sync for their mother-tucking life.

For the mini-challenge, the queens were doused with buckets of water as they posed for a photoshoot with Aekarat Ubonsri. Like Milk would say, “it’s fashion dahhling!”

Then, for the main event, the contestants had to serve three versatile looks in one, and some of them (Année Maywong) left us – and fans – gagging.

Check out their runways – and fall in love with the queens – in the video below.

“Sick’ning no?”- Alexis Matteo, 2011.

Just to refresh your memory, the queens in the RuPaul’s Drag Race spin-off are as follows: Dearis Doll, 30; Natalia Piarcam, 37; Amadiva, 24; Bunny Be Fly, 25; Année Maywong, 30; Petchara, 30; Meannie Minaj, 26; JAJA, 34; Morrigan, 18, and B Ella, 30 (for promotional photos of all the queens, click here).

Stylist and designer Art Arya takes on Ru’s role as host of the show, alongside Bangkok queen Pangina Heals – who is co-host.

Fenton Bailey of World of Wonder said: “Drag is part of the Thai culture, in some ways more than it has been in the US, historically speaking. Even though they are following the format, I want them to bring their own inimitable style and characteristics.”

On comparisons with the original, Bailey said: “They should being their own creativity, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. And I think they are doing that!”

He continued: “Thailand’s known as ’the land of smiles, and that’s perfect… because, ultimately, joy is in the DNA of Drag Race.”

Are you prepared to gag on their eleganza? Watch them werrrrrrk in the trailer below.
