Netflix has renewed Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for a third and fourth season.

Sixteen more episodes will be ordered, which will be split into two parts, meaning the third and fourth season will comprise of eight episodes each.

The first season premiered earlier this year to wide acclaim, with fans and critics praising its dark tone and inclusion of LGBTQ characters. It also returned for a one off Christmas special last week.

In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Kiernan Shipka – who plays the title character – said the cast have gone straight into filming the second season.

“We’re filming [season 2] right now,” she confirmed. “It’s been really so exceptionally fun to film, especially given the fact that I feel like we’re already in such a rhythm from coming out of the first season that to jump right into the second one was really, really fun and just a great opportunity to keep the momentum going.

“We definitely… Sabrina definitely changes and shifts a lot. Her growth is very evident and the second season definitely has a different spin on it than the first season. They’re very different from each other.”

She added: “I would just say that, without giving too much away, because it would be a bit of a spoiler, the way that Sabrina’s life takes certain turns and certain decisions she makes inform the second season.”

The reboot of the classic comedy series stars Kiernan, Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Chance Perdomo, Lachlan Watson, Ross Lynch, Jaz Sinclair, Michelle Gomez, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph and Abigail Cowen.

‘Part two’ will follow the titular character’s slight shift in personality after she was forced to sign the Book of the Beast in the first season finale, which resulted in a free, trendy makeover. Easy for some, eh?

Buffy and Angel star Alexis Denisof has joined the second season as Mary Wardwell’s boyfriend Adam Masters, who’s returning to Greendale after working overseas. We’re sure he’ll have a shock when he finds out his fiancé has been possessed by demon Madam Satan…

Descendants star Jedidiah Goodacre has also been confirmed to star as Dorian Gray, the “enigmatic” owner of a nightclub called Dorian Grey’s Room who also owns “a cursed portrait” he keeps hidden away.

The trailer promises more sex, drama and witchcraft (duh), and shows a more confident, flirtatious Sabrina as she cracks on with Nicholas Scratch. Salem still doesn’t talk, so don’t get your hopes up.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina part two will premiere 5 April 2019. Watch the season two trailer below.
