Olivia Rodrigo and Lily Allen sing F*ck You to the US Supreme Court

Olivia Rodrigo and Lily Allen slammed the US Supreme Court during their Glastonbury Festival performance.

On Friday (24 June), the Court officially overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalised abortion nationwide – which will essentially pave the way for half of the country to restrict or completely ban the medical procedure.

The Supreme Court wrote in a document: “The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled; and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives.”

Following the highly controversial ruling, Justice Thomas wrote that the Supreme Court should “reconsider” various landmark decisions such as the right to contraception, same-sex relationships and same-sex marriage.

“In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell,” said the conservative associate justice.

Since the court ruling, activists and political figures have used their platforms to protest the dangerous court decision.

An array of music artists have also expressed their disappointment over the Court’s decision during this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

During Rodrigo’s set, the Good 4 U singer brought out Allen to sing the latter’s hit track F*ck You.

“Someone that I absolutely adore is here today. I think she’s the most incredible songwriter, the most incredible artist, the most incredible person, and I’m so lucky that she’s here singing with me today. Would you guys please give it up for Miss Lily Allen,” she said.

After the iconic singer joined the Driver’s License artist on stage, the 19-year-old slammed the Supreme Court justices by name before jumping into the aforementioned track.

“I’m devastated and terrified that so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this,” she told the crowd.

“I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have shown us that at the end of the day, they truly don’t give a sh*t about freedom.

“This song goes out to the justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh. We hate you.”

Rodrigo and Allen weren’t the only artists to call out the Supreme Court at Glastonbury.

During Megan Thee Stallion’s set, the resident hot girl coach said: “You know I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t say something about these stupid a** men.

“Texas really embarrassing me right now, y’all. The hot girls and hot boys do not support this s**t. My body, my motherf***ing choice.”

Phoebe Bridgers also expressed her disappointment over Roe v. Wade being overturned.

“In all honesty, [the festival is] like super surreal and fun, but I’m having the s*****st day,” she said.

“Are there any Americans here? Who wants to say ‘F**k the Supreme Court’ on three?

“F**k that shit. F**k America. Like, f**k you. All these irrelevant old motherf**kers trying to tell us what to do with our bodies.”
