Kylie Minogue fans have been going feral after the release of her new single ‘Padam Padam’ and its accompanying music video.

The track, which was produced by Lostboy, is a gay anthem in the making and will undoubtedly be one of this year’s biggest summer bangers in nightclubs all over the world.

It serves as the lead single from Kylie’s highly anticipated 16th studio album, ‘Tension’, which is set to be released in September.

“I started this album with an open mind and a blank page,” she said of the project. “Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme’, it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song. I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”

‘Padam Padam’ sees Kylie sing about her heart racing after meeting someone and knowing that there is chemistry between the two of them.

“Padam, padam / I hear it and I know / Padam, padam / I know you wanna take me home / Padam / And get to know me close,” she says on the track.

Since the release of the song and video on 18 May, fans have been taking to social media to thank Mother Minogue for her contributions to pop music.

“Kylie Minogue saving pop music once again,” one wrote alongside a viral video of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Meyer bopping at the club.

Another fan of Kylie’s said they love the new era’s “vibrant visuals” and think the video “delivers on those and then some”.

They continued: “Superb cape-ry, exotic locations *and* a killer dance routine! (Which also nods to ‘Hand On Your Heart’!) Hooked.”

“Padam padam is incredible!!!!!!!!! I love Kylie Ann Minogue!!!!!!!!!! Mother of the house of Australia!!!!!!” added a third person.
