Cassadee Pope, Maren Morris and Joy Oladokun slammed beauty influencer Brittany Aldean for making vile transphobic comments.
On 24 August, the wife of country music star Jason Aldean took to Instagram and uploaded a video featuring one of her make-up looks alongside an anti-trans caption.
“I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life,” she wrote.
Unsurprisingly, Aldean’s statement was in relation to the ongoing debate regarding trans youth and gender-affirming.
While her video received praise from her conservative followers, various artists within the country music sphere didn’t take too kindly to the beauty influencer’s harmful statement.
“You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging,” Pope wrote via Twitter.
“But instead, here we are, hearing someone compare their “tomboy phase” to someone wanting to transition. Real nice.”
Oladokun echoed similar sentiments in her own statement on social media.
“Waking up happy that my parents didn’t raise me to be as rude and nasty as [Brittany Aldean],” she wrote.
“I would also like to say that LGBTQs have clearer skin without whatever she pushing.”

Morris also condemned Brittnay’s comments, writing: “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”
Unfortunately for Morris, her comment was met with a response from conservative media personality Candace Owens, who tweeted: “It’s easier to not castrate your children. But I guess whatever helps sell bad records.”
However, the Grammy winner delivered an epic comeback that condemned Owens’ constant need to make anti-trans remarks.
“Oh my god, not you. My Grammy is positively sobbing right now. Also, why do y’all always go to “castration” and “pedophiles” to try and shut an argument down? It’s honestly concerning and worth looking into,” she wrote.
After receiving heaps of backlash, Aldean responded to Pope by doubling down on her statements in another transphobic post via her Instagram story.

“Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender-affirming care’ is one of the worst evils,” she wrote.
“Some parents want to be accepted by society so badly, that they’re willing to make life-altering decisions for their children who aren’t old enough to fully comprehend the consequences of those actions.”
Morris’ husband, Ryan Hurd, was quick to condemn Aldean’s follow-up post via Twitter while also showing support for his wife.
“Scoring quick points by picking on trans kids isn’t something that is brave at all. And I’m proud of Maren for sticking up for them,” he wrote.
“Badge of honor to have CO engage in completely normal discourse, too. Shut up and sing only applies to those who you disagree with.
“Getting a lot of people telling me our career is over… Honestly, we’re pretty ok over here. Tours are good, got a 2-year-old we love… I promise she isn’t going to shut up now.”
