#TransIsBeautiful and our voices will be heard.

The highly anticipated event was scheduled to take place on 5 September at Parliament Square in London but has since been cancelled.

In a somber social media post, Thaniel Dorian of the Protest Trans group stated: “I am so sorry to speakers and volunteers, and my organisational team, who have all worked so incredibly hard and invested so much labour into this event.”

Even though the protest will not be taking place this weekend, the organisers have reassured supporters and would-be participants that the funds raised will be used to cover cancellation fees for the BSL interpreters, and the remaining amount will be put forward to future events such as the Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil in November of this year.

The sudden cancellation of the Trans Rights Protest has disappointed many people who were eager to participate in the important event – with one Twitter user stating: “@BorisJohnson @jk_rowling & every single one of you who’s voices *continue* to be heard, *this* is what #CancelCulture really looks like. Peaceful & democratic protest shut down by the  @metpoliceuk #TogetherWeStand #TransIsBeautiful.

This roadblock will not stop the fight for social justice and trans rights. We shall persevere!
