YouTuber and filmmaker Riyadh Khalaf has announced his first book.

Yay! You’re Gay! Now What?: A Gay Boy’s Guide to Life is exactly that – a go-to guide for young queer teens that tackles everything from coming out, dealing with homophobes, and discovering who you are.

The book, which Riyadh says has been one and a half years in the making, is released on 2 May, 2019.

“This book is for the thousands of lost, afraid and underserved queer teens who’ve messaged me over the years looking for help,” he explained.

“It’s also for every person who comes in contact with that queer teen who wants to learn how to nurture, protect and uplift them, from teachers to classmates to work colleagues and even parents who are finding it difficult to accept.”

The book features contributions from LGBTQ icons including actor Stephen Fry, Love Simon star Clark Moore, drag superstar Courtney Act, and also a section from his own parents about accepting your queer child.

“My own parents have written a beautiful chapter on how to overcome shame and find love for your newly ‘out’ child,” he added.

“There’s also queer sex ed, advice on coming out, dealing with bullies, what to do if your parents are homophobic, finding your calling and learning to LOVE your identity.

“Please support this book and if you’re not buying it for yourself, get it for that person in your life who could do with some validation and inspiration.”
