Grace Jones will headline New York City Pride.

The legendary singer-songwriter, actress and fashion icon will perform on Saturday night at this year’s Pride Island, a multi-day event taking place over NYC Pride weekend at Pier 97.

“I couldn’t be more excited to perform in front of my LGBTQIA+ friends and the community that’s supported me for so many years,” said Grace.

“Saturday’s Pride Island lineup will be a celebration of everything that the community stands for and will go down in illustrious history.”

She’ll be joined by Brazilian drag superstar Pabllo Vitar, singer-cum-rapper Teyana Taylor who’ll bring “New York ballroom realness” to the stage, as well as singer Amara La Negra and DJ Johnny Dynell.

“We’re thrilled to be able to create this multi-day experience, which speaks to an inclusive set of Pride- goers, during one of the biggest Pride events in the world,” Managing Director of NYC Pride, Chris Frederick, said.

“With the iconic Grace Jones headlining on Saturday and the incredible list of curated talent, this musical experience is definitely not to be missed.”

A headliner for Sunday will be announced soon.

If you can’t make it across the pond, Grace will also be performing at LoveBN1Fest on Sunday 4 August, which takes place over the annual Brighton & Hove Pride weekend celebrations.
