Last week celebrities including Bake Off winner Candice Brown, Love Island’s Montana Brown, This Morning’s Dr Ranj, Matt Evers, Sky News anchor Sarah-Jane Mee and infamous drag queen DJ Jodie Harsh gathered for the European launch of Australian drinks brand Gayle.

In a night featuring speeches by Gayle founder Virginia Buckworth and European Director Michael Nanton-Knight, Jodie span the tunes alongside DJ Henri and the brand truly made it’s mark in London nightlife.

And like its striking rainbow packaging, this isn’t just any alcoholic beverage – Gayle revealed it’s on a mission to fly the rainbow flag for equality and support for the LGBTQ+ community. They also used the occasion to announce their support of the Albert Kennedy Trust in the UK.

Founded by Virginia in November 2017, the brand has already spreading their message of love across Pride celebrations in Milton Keynes, Warwickshire, Manchester, Southampton and Reading.

Virginia explains: “We are over the moon to be bringing Gayle to the UK and our launch event was just fantastic.

“Australian’s have taken to Gayle in a brilliant way and now it’s the turn for the Brits to discover Gayle and support the LGBTQ+ communities. We’d love The UK to come together, enjoy a drink and celebrate equality at the same time and being able to support the Albert Kennedy Trust is a great start on what we want to achieve.”

This Australian style golden ale is described as “super sessionable” which has now started production in the UK using Gayle’s ‘secret’ recipe – is quenchable due to its mild hop and malt profile coupled with delicious tropical and passionfruit aromas. It’s quickly becoming a legendary ale packed full of Aussie pride.

Equally, as tantalizing, Gayle’s Cider is made from pink-lady apples straight from the Adelaide Hills and has that perfect balance of not being too dry or too sweet, it’s just right.

Virginia, who is behind the launch of Australia’s first and only independently-owned gay craft beer and cider brand, adds: “We believe it’s possible to unite communities through something quintessentially Australian as sharing a few drinks with mates as we celebrate love without restrictions. We are dedicated to sponsoring and supporting the LGTBQ+ community and events throughout Australia and the UK.

“Gayle’s life started with four members of our intergenerational rainbow family discussing the inequalities and the hard yards that our LGBTQ+ community has had to endure over the years.

“With this in mind, we created our own unique handcraft beer and cider, brewed with love to celebrate unity and the LGBTQ+ community with friends and family.”

When you crack open a can of Gayle it’s a chance to come together and toast being able to love without restrictions.

At the very heart of Gayle is a call to action, to love one another and to celebrate the power and beauty of diversity.
