Sam Smith has broken up with his boyfriend Brandon Flynn.
The best-selling British singer-songwriter had been dating the 13 Reasons Why star for nine months, but now the couple have decided to split up, leaving Sam “devastated” according to reports from The Sun.
“They are both so busy with their careers and unfortunately things just haven’t worked out,” a source told the outlet.
“Sam is obviously devastated. This is the most significant relationship he has ever had. Thankfully he is on tour across the U.S. at the moment, which has been a welcome distraction.”
The couple first went public with their relationship back in December last year, when Sam shared a selfie of himself and Brandon wearing matching unicorn hats on social media.
That photo – as well as several others – have now been deleted from Sam’s Instagram account, and he appears to have unfollowed Brandon.
While neither has confirmed the split yet, Sam did address his feelings during his The Thrill Of It All Tour show in Brooklyn on Wednesday night, where he told fans he was “going through some shit” in his life.
“Everyone in this room is going through some shit right now,” he reportedly told the crowd, according to AOL. “I know I’m going through some shit right now.”
