Champion of queer fashion, Swedish-German brand Lazoschmidl, has teamed up with photographer William Baker for their new calendar, featuring their S/S 20 collection in shots unique to each month.

The brand is known for defying convention and breaking fashion norms, all whilst maintaining a strong queer aesthetic, and their latest collection is no different. Josef Lazo and Andreas Schmidl have designed a ‘rebellion’ against the high school social archetypes of jocks and geeks in a campaign dripping with 90’s nostalgia.

The calendar heavily references such stereotypes, but combines them with tongue-in-cheek homoeroticism and neon pops of colour, ultimately presenting a fetishized version of these old tropes.

Their designs are the result of fashion and literature meeting, as their work is developed from creative writing and featured in their self-published fanzine. Lazoschmidl’s pieces have been adopted by a number of queer artists including Troye Sivan, and was most recently worn by Harry Styles in his video for Lights Up.
