The power of two will do!
The teaser for Grey’s Anatomy’s next episode shows the long-awaited on-screen reunion between Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs. The two stars previously played sisters for eight seasons on the acclaimed fantasy series, Charmed.
They will play the sisters (once again) of a patient who becomes braindead after an accident at a construction site; unfortunately, Leo won’t be on standby to heal their sibling, so they’ll have to decide if they want to keep her on life support.
Milano and Combs reunited with Charmed’s former executive producers Krista Vernoff and Andy Reaser on the long-running medical drama. They will make their Grey’s Anatomy debut in the third episode of season 16, which airs 10 October.
Imagine if Shannen Doherty or Rose McGowan made a special guest appearance as their sister? Would you die? We’d die. Watch Phoebe and Piper reunite for the first time on-screen since the Charmed finale below.
Airing between 1998 and 2006, Charmed focused on the most powerful witches in the world who use their combined “Power of Three” to vanquish demons, warlocks, all evil-dwellers, etc, all while maintaining their personal and professional lives.
Milano and Combs starred as Phoebe and Piper Halliwell for its entire run.
Doherty co-starred as Prue Halliwell, the third and oldest sister who was controversially killed in the season three finale. She was replaced with McGowan’s character Paige Matthews for the remaining five seasons.
At 178 episodes, the show became the longest running hour-long television series featuring all female leads (until it was surpassed by Desperate Housewives in 2012) and the second-longest drama broadcast by The WB network.
The show developed a cult following and is often described by critics as one of the most influential television shows in history.
Because of its critical acclaim (and because it was the second most streamed show of 2012, six years after the finale), Charmed received a reboot by The CW, which aired its first episode on 14 October 2018.
