Troye Sivan has shared the tracklist for album Something to Give Each Other alongside sensual new album artwork in the process.

The countdown is on to the release of the Australian actor and singer’s third studio album. Something to Give Each Other features 10 tracks and opens with the unofficial banger of the summer ‘Rush’, along with recently released single ‘Got Me Started’.

Troye revealed the tracklist, accompanied by the nude album artwork that sees him captured in a black and white photograph, curled up on what appears to be a sofa wearing nothing but a pair of thick, woollen socks.

He also released a teaser for track two ‘WHAT’S THE TIME WHERE YOU ARE?’

Something to Give Each Other showcases a new collaboration with Guitarricadelafuente, a Spanish singer songwriter who features on track four ‘In My Room’.

In an interview with Rolling Stone AU/NZ, Troye revealed how the forthcoming album was partially inspired by a hookup. “We were lying in bed and he was like, ‘This is one of life’s greatest pleasures, connecting with people in this way.’”

Troye continued: “Obviously the hook-up is fun, but he’s like, ‘Even if I never see you again, we get to have this really special moment together.’”

The themes of connection and togetherness runs throughout the album, with Troye writing in an announcement post: “This album is my something to give you – a kiss on a dancefloor, a date turned into a weekend, a crush, a winter, a summer. Party after party, after party, after party. Heartbreak, freedom. Community, sisterhood, friendship. All that.”

A press release describes Something to Give Each Other as a celebration of “sex, dance, sweat, community, queerness, love, and friendship”: “Emerging from the tribulations of the last few years, Sivan found himself rewiring with the joy of human connection and dance music.”

‘Rush’ catapulted Troye back into the spotlight in July. The disco-infused dance floor banger was not only a summer bop but was accompanied by a sweaty, sexually-charged music video that celebrated queer love.

In a statement about the video, Troye said Rush is “the feeling of kissing a sweaty stranger on a dancefloor, a two-hour date that turned into a weekend, a crush, a winter, a summer.

“All of my experiences from a chapter where I feel confident, free and liberated. Independent, yet somehow the most connected to the music and community around me.”

Something To Give Each Other marks his first full-length studio album since 2018’s Bloom, which received universal acclaim and featured singles such as My! My! My!, The Good Side, Dance to This (with Ariana Grande), Animal and the title track.

In the years since, Troye has released the 2020 EP In a Dream and starred in films such as Boy Erased (2018) and Three Months (2022).

More recently, he appeared alongside Lily Rose-Depp and The Weeknd in HBO’s controversial drama The Idol. For the soundtrack, he contributed a cover of George Harrison’s 1970 classic My Sweet Lord.

Something to Give Each Other is out on 13 October.
