“Who told Jessica Lange the gay agenda?!”

Munch butts? Celebrate Halloween? That’s what gays do according to Oscar, Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress Jessica Lange. Is she wrong? No, not at all!

Lange is set to star in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming satirical comedy The Politician alongside Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, David Corenswet, Julia Schlaepfer, Laura Dreyfuss, Theo Germaine and Rahne Jones.

It follows Platt’s character Payton Hobart, a wealthy student from California who is determined to become the President of the United States. First, he has to navigate “the most treacherous political landscape of all: Saint Sebastian High School”.

The first trailer dropped this week, and it’s gone viral thanks to Lange’s character Rose Jackson summing up “the gay agenda”.

“I don’t understand why calling that gay man a butt-munch was such a scandal,” she says in the trailer to her granddaughter, Infinity (played by Deutch). “That’s what gays do: munch butts and celebrate Halloween.”

Give Lange another Emmy, pronto. Social media has gone crayzay over the quote, and within 24 hours, it’s become another iconic meme for the actress. We’ve rounded up some of the best reactions from Twitter – see below!

The Politician will arrive 27 September on Netflix.

The official synopsis reads: “To get elected Student Body President, secure a spot at Harvard, and stay on his singular path to success, Payton will have to outsmart his ruthless classmates without sacrificing his own morality and carefully crafted image.

“Full of dark comedy and sly satire, The Politician offers a rare glimpse into just what it takes to make a politician.”

Netflix has commissioned two seasons of the show with five planned, each of which will revolve around a different election that will chronicle Peyton’s rise to power – watch the first trailer below.
