Taron Egerton filmed a love scene with Richard Madden for the upcoming Elton John biopic.

The British actor will play the iconic singer-songwriter for the highly-anticipated musical, Rocketman, while the Bodyguard star will portray his manager and lover, John Reid.

In an interview with List, Taron shared details of their intimacy in the film.

“I probably shouldn’t be telling you this but we have a sex scene,” he revealed. “We went to some places together and got quite physical. I’ve watched it back and I think it looks great.

“The grown-up nature of the film, combined with it being a musical, makes it feel quite zeitgeisty.

“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this but it’s basically about Elton in rehab, so we’re not watering anything down.”

Based on the life of the legendary musician, the film will focus on Elton’s early years in the music industry, his rise at the Royal Academy of Music, and his struggles with fame and drug abuse.

Taron said the film “could be the best thing” he’s ever done, and that he loved filming “every minute of it”.

“I’ve always loved singing and musicals, and I felt that there was that big side of myself that I haven’t explored yet in films but this gave me the opportunity to do that,” he added.

“And it’s very consciously a proud, gay film and it’s also open to showing Elton’s darker moments.”

Last week, Taron cleared up all the social media rumours regarding his sexuality.

His fans started speculating about his sexuality after he posted an Instagram picture last month of a male friend with the caption “Cutie. My boy” followed by a heart emoji.

Within seconds there were hundreds of Pride flags posted by followers underneath, with comments of “I’m so proud of you” and “we love a nonchalant come out post”.

“One of the lads was at my London flat and I Instagrammed a picture of him and said ‘Look at this cutie’, and a million outlets reported I was coming out as gay”, Traon said to Metro.

“I’m not gay but two of my mates came out when I was 15 and it was a joy to support them because, as a group, we are all secure in who we are.”

Taron is currently promoting his new film Robin Hood, which also stars Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn and Tim Minchin and is in cinemas now.
